Seafood Directions Conference 2024

The major national seafood event of the year was Seafood Directions 2024 in Hobart.

This event was an excellent opportunity for the Queensland Seafood Industry to connect with fellow industry leaders, share knowledge, and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our sector nationwide. It was wonderful to see so many Queenslanders’ travel to Hobart, not only to support our local industry but also to highlight the exceptional quality of Queensland seafood on a national stage. QSMA proudly sponsored the prawns for the Awards Night Dinner, highlighting our finest Queensland Seafood.

It was also wonderful to see two Queenslanders take out the top spots and become national champions, Umar Nguyen of The Fish Girl won the Promotion Award and Austral Fisheries received the People Development award.

We also celebrated Nick Schulz, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his longstanding contributions to the industry. The recognition of these industry leaders is a testament to the talent and innovation present in Queensland’s seafood industry.
